Wonderful Barn Leixlip Kildare.

I have lived in Leixlip for a while now but this was my first visit to the Wondrerful Barn. The town Council were having a family day so we took the opportunity to visit.
The barn was built as a grain store after the big frost. There are also two smaller but similar structures which were dovecotes. Elm, wild roses and plum are among the trees are in the grounds. It was a beautiful sunny day. The entrance is on Celbridge road leixlip. The council have allotments there.

The hole in the middle of the ceiling for sacks of grain to be hauled up.

The Doves were kept to eat the grain that was dropped during loading.
The doves were eaten thus nothing was wasted.
