I read a few other blogs and find it interesting to see what people are making.
I made Seafood Chowder for the first time on Monday.
I Googled the recipe and used elements of a few different recipes.
Serves two
I used .200kg of Seafood Mix I purchased at Beshoffs West Pier Howth.
Half a carton of cooking cream
A slosh of white wine
A carrot diced
Two potatoes diced, the potato thickened it so I didn't use any flour.
An onion diced
A knorr fish stock pot.
Knob of butter
some water
I fried the veg in butter in a large pot
Then added wine and let it reduce.
Add water and Stock
Add fish , it does not take long to cook
You want it to stay intact not broken up.
The carrot made it an orange color.

My Grandson's Artwork
It is funny but when I started this blog I thought a lot of posts would be about my grandson.
I guess everyone thinks theirs are the best. I am always doing competitions so of course I encourage him do enter some too. He loves to color in. I'd say he is in his block faze as he loves to use all the colors in the pack. In these he has used his crayons.

Tracing my Ancestors
He gave lots of sound advice and some websites I didn't know about.
http://www.familyhistoryshow.net
https://familysearch.org/learn/wiki/en/Ireland_Births_and_Baptisms_(FamilySearch_Historical_Records)
Mario says 'Use Google it is your friend' and when searching use the 'how to use' button when searching databases. Start searching for someone you know the details of to see how the website works. For example if you Search for Éamon de Valera on the census you won't find him because he in in it as Edward .
Is a monthly online magazine, they focus on a different county each month so look at their archives to see area you are interested in.
Even though your family might not be from Northern Ireland , if they lived or worked for an landlord there might be some useful information here. http://www.proni.gov.uk/index/search_the_archives.htm
I love maps so http://maps.osi.ie is a great website to see what places looked like years ago. It's fun to see where your house is now when it was just fields.
